Look at FIRST. We use RC to drive/test our preseason/promo robots. Then for the actual season we? use a more advanced controller and drive station. It's all applicable and there are a lot of scholarships available for students in FIRST or similar programs. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's stupid.
